2024年1月9日发射升空的天关卫星(爱因斯坦探针EP)是一个空间X射线天文台。其核心科学目标是探测并刻画高能暂现源和天体变化。作为全球首颗、也是目前唯一在轨应用新型龙虾眼聚焦技术的宽视场X射线成像监测卫星,天关还配备高性能X射线望远镜,可在轨快速开展后续观测。迄今,天关已探测到了大样本的X射线暂现源与变化天体,这些发现引导了国际天文界开展了大量后随观测与研究。本次报告将介绍天关卫星的科学探测能力和早期科学成果,以及天关如何开启探索动态 X 射线宇宙的新窗口。天关是中国科学院主导的国际合作任务,由欧洲空间局、德国马普地外物理研究所及法国国家空间研究中心共同参与。
Launched on January 9th, 2024, the Einstein Probe (EP) is a space X-ray observatory with key science goals to detect and characterize high-energy transient and variable sources. EP is the first and only X-ray observatory so far equipped with a large field-of-view imaging monitor employing novel lobster-eye focusing technology, complemented by a powerful X-ray telescope for quick onboard follow-up observations. So far, EP has detected and characterized a large sample of X-ray transients and highly variable sources, some extensively followed up and studied by the EP team as well as by the wider community. This talk will introduce the science capability of EP and show some of its early scientific results, and how EP is opening a new window to explore the dynamic X-ray universe. EP is an international collaborative X-ray astronomical mission led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences with contributions from ESA, MPE and CNES.

袁为民博士,中国科学院国家天文台研究员。研究领域为X 射线和高能天体物理,主要方向包括高能暂现天体和活动星系核的观测研究、以及X射线天文仪器方法。中国科学院空间科学先导专项二期“天关”卫星首席科学家。
Dr. YUAN Weimin is lead of High-energy Astrophysics Group at National Astronomical Observatories (NAOC), CAS. His research interests are concerned with X-ray and high-energy astrophysics, including observational studies of high-energy transients and active galactic nuclei, as well as the development of X-ray astronomical instruments. Dr. Yuan is Principal Investigator of CAS’s Einstein Probe mission since its proposal phase in 2013.
