摘要 Abstract
I will focus on the status of the Dark Matter Particle Explorer in orbit as well as its main scientific achievements on direct measurements of cosmic rays. I will also introduce the proposed new mission, the very large gamma-ray space telescope (VLAST) characterized by its unprecedented peak acceptance of ~12 m^2 sr and a very broad energy range of MeV-TeV. The pathfinder of VLAST is planned to be launched in 2026.

Born in April 1977 in Liangping, Chongqing, FAN Yi-Zhong has long been engaged in research on indirect dark matter detection, gravitational wave astronomy, and high-energy astrophysics. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Purple Mountain Observatory and Chief Researcher of the "Research Group on Physics Related to Indirect Dark Matter Detection" at Purple Mountain Observatory. He has made significant contributions in multiple research directions, including indirect dark matter detection based on gamma-ray and cosmic ray measurements, the composition of outflow of gamma-ray bursts, as well as gravitational wave astronomy. He has received support from projects such as the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China and honors like the XPLORER PRIZE in 2023. Prof. Fan serves as the scientific team leader for the DAMPE satellite and is currently leading the Very Large Area Gamma-ray Space Telescope (VLAST) project.
